Scooby-Doo is a creative young team that has developed a comprehensive communication campaign, #Clean_City_Quest, aimed at promoting an eco-conscious attitude toward keeping our hometown clean among young people and concerned residents through the Telegram Clean_City_Quest_Bot in a gamified format using virtual rewards—EcoBins—in the mobile app.

The team’s success story began three months ago with their participation in the “ECOTON. Talk About the Climate. Create Communication Projects” initiative, organized by INCIENCE, UNICEF Ukraine, and ING Bank, during which more than 30 teams spent three days working on their own eco-projects under the guidance of mentors. Scooby-Doo worked on a comprehensive communication campaign to promote an eco-conscious attitude toward keeping their hometown clean, which involves creating a chatbot and an interactive map called CleanCityQuest that will invite users to take part in an interactive eco-quest.

Ivan Vostryakov, Ulyana Kuchynska, Oleksandr Panasyuk, and Oleksiy Kundenko took 4th place and made it into the top 6 projects of ECOTON, receiving financial support from the project’s partners—20,000 UAH each to bring their projects to life.

Determined not to rest on their laurels, the team secured a decisive victory, taking first place among Ukrainian teams on December 1, 2021, in the first stage of the #Green4Europe Hackathon 2021 and earned the opportunity to represent Ukraine in the #Green4Europe Hackathon 2021 finals in Berlin, where they took second place.

The hackathon consisted of three stages: semifinals in Georgia and Ukraine, and the finals in Germany. More than 350 participants from 14 teams worked on eco-friendly tech solutions.

The team will receive professional feedback and mentoring sessions from the organizers, as well as cash prizes of €500 and €1,000. Hackathon participants will have the opportunity to refine their digital solutions with mentors, partners, and representatives of the organizers at a special event at UNIT.City.
