Public discussion: ‘Prospects for the creation of green energy communities in Ukraine’ – 14 September 2023
The team at the NGO ‘SYNERGY Sustainable Development Agency’ and the German cooperative WECHANGE eG are honoured to invite you to a public discussion entitled “Prospects for the creation of green energy communities in Ukraine”, which will take place on 14 September 2023 from 12.30 pm to 5.30 pm in Vinnytsia at a venue with shelter.
The event is taking place as part of the "Civil Society Energy for Resilient Ukraine" project, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
The aim of the public discussions is to present the first part of the focus group study entitled ‘The Potential for Establishing Green Energy Communities in Ukraine’ and to raise awareness of green technologies and the benefits of sustainable energy. In addition, the event aims to promote the development of local renewable energy projects by engaging citizens and local communities in developing joint recommendations for the drafting of the white paper “Prospects for the Development of Green Energy Communities in Ukraine”. The study provides an overview of existing conditions, barriers and incentives, and summarises recommendations on the measures needed to stimulate the creation of energy communities in Ukraine. Suggestions, remarks and comments regarding problematic aspects of the legislative, financial and technical aspects, raised and discussed during the public discussions, will be taken into account in the preparation of the “White Paper”. Offline focus group session “Social, environmental and informational aspects of establishing energy communities” on 14 September 2023, from 10:30 to 12:30.
