Recruitment of experts for the Energy Communities Development Taskforce

The Synergy Sustainable Development Agency is inviting experts to join the Taskforce on the development of energy communities as part of the project ‘Together We Are Strong (Shared Energy): Building Green Energy Communities in Ukraine’.

The project aims to support the creation and scaling up of community-based renewable energy models in Ukraine. Find out more about the project here.

The main areas of responsibility for experts:

  • Analytical support: research and adaptation of European energy community business models (cooperatives, public-private partnerships, prosumer models) to the Ukrainian context.

  • Development of an analytical catalogue: preparation of an overview and recommendations regarding existing green energy community business models suitable for implementation in Ukraine.

  • Consultancy support: conducting group consultations and facilitating strategic sessions with municipalities and initiative groups.

  • Training: participation in the development and delivery of the online course “Fundamentals of Community Energy” (theoretical and acceleration modules).

  • Support for pilot projects: expert support (legal, financial, technical, social) within the framework of the voucher mechanism.

We are seeking experts in the following fields:

  • technical (renewable energy, energy efficiency, infrastructure);
  • legal (legislation, cooperative law, regulations);
  • economic (business models, finance, climate investment);
  • social (public participation, communication, facilitation)
  • cooperative governance / social economy.

Form of cooperation

A framework agreement will be concluded with the selected experts for a specified number of hours, with payment on an hourly basis, to carry out tasks on an ad hoc basis within the scope of the project.

Who can apply:

  • Experts in technical, legal, economic, social and cooperative disciplines.

  • At least 3 years’ professional experience in the relevant fields (energy, sustainable development, urban planning, climate policy, the cooperative movement).

  • Experience of participating in international or national projects on sustainable energy or climate.

  • Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team and facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue.

  • Fluency in Ukrainian.

  • contributing to the development of a national approach to the development of green energy communities in Ukraine.
