“Prospects for the Innovative Development of the Bioeconomy in Ukraine”

We invite you to participate in the public discussion titled “Prospects for the Innovative Development of the Bioeconomy in Ukraine”, where the results of the focus group study “The Potential for Implementing the Bioeconomy in Ukraine” will be presented. The event will take place on February 27, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. The discussion will be held in a hybrid format.

The events are being held as part of the project  “Building Ukraine's Bioeconomy” which is being implemented under the overall coordination of program fellow Viktoria Vostryakova, Ph.D.  (Vika Zataydukh) as part of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility—a grant program supporting civil society leaders in Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility and is funded by the European Union.

The purpose of the discussion is to review the results of a focus group study and an online survey on perceptions of the bioeconomy in Ukraine, taking into account the views of the business, government, and academic sectors, in order to deepen understanding and identify opportunities for the development of this strategic area. Based on the results obtained, an analytical document titled “Innovative Development of Ukraine’s Bioeconomic Potential” will be prepared.

Key objectives of the discussion:

• To present research findings to facilitate the exchange of information and understanding of key aspects of the bioeconomy.
• To encourage participants to share their views, perspectives, and ideas on the development of the bioeconomy.
• To discuss opportunities and challenges for business, government, and academia in shaping strategies for cooperation and development.
• To build a shared understanding of the current state and future prospects of the bioeconomy in Ukraine by bringing together the views of various stakeholders.
• To create a platform for further cooperation between business, government, and scientific institutions to stimulate the development of innovation and the bioeconomy

The format of the public discussion is designed to actively engage all stakeholders in shaping a strategic vision and promoting the development of the bioeconomy in Ukraine. Those wishing to join the discussion will also have the opportunity to speak, express their views and expert opinions, and present real-world case studies during the discussion. Short written statements (up to 1 page) may be included in the analytical note under the “Expert Opinion” section. To contribute your perspective to the analytical document, please indicate this in the form, and we will contact you.

Tentative event schedule (to be confirmed)

Admission to the event is free for registered participants; seating is limited. The venue address will be sent to registered participants. Participation in the discussion is available online. For participants from other cities, travel expenses will be covered by the organizers, provided that transportation tickets are available.
