A national information session on the European Energy Communities Facility was held in Ukraine
On 4 July 2025, the NGO ‘SYNERGY Sustainable Development Agency’, acting as the national expert for the European Energy Communities Facility in Ukraine, held an online national information session for representatives of Ukrainian communities.
European Energy Communities Facility is a large-scale EU initiative funded under the LIFE programme and aimed at supporting at least 140 energy communities across Europe. Each community is eligible for a grant of €45,000 to develop a robust business plan and complete a mandatory organisational capacity-building programme.
During the session, a team of national experts outlined the terms and conditions for participating in the grant competition, the key requirements for applicants, and the project evaluation criteria. Participants were given a practical demonstration of how to use the application platform, carry out a self-assessment of compliance, and prepare a high-quality application.
Organisations that meet the EU’s definition of an energy community and wish to establish or develop their own energy community can take advantage of the opportunity to receive financial support, access to training modules and best European practices.
