Launch of the ‘Building Ukraine's Bioeconomy’ project
We are pleased to provide informational and organisational support for the new project ‘Building Bioeconomy for Ukraine’ – a personal scholarship project led by Viktoria Vostryakova, Chair of the NGO ‘SYNERGY Sustainable Development Agency’ Viktoria Vostryakova, implemented with the support of the European Union as part of the Scholarship Programme for Civil Society Leaders in the Eastern Partnership countries.
The overall aim of the project is to lay the groundwork for the development of innovative bioeconomic strategies for development and governance at all levels, taking into account the current state of the vision, perceptions and expectations regarding bioeconomic transformation among a wide range of stakeholders, by producing an information and analysis document based on empirical research.
To achieve this objective, it is necessary to identify the key prerequisites and challenges arising during the bioeconomic transformation, the risks and potential opportunities for the development of the bioeconomy in Ukraine, to develop recommendations for improving the conditions for bioeconomic transformation at all levels, to develop and adapt existing business models, and to create a platform to ensure the continued exchange of experience, networking and development of the bioeconomy after the project’s completion.
A number of activities are planned as part of the project:
- Conducting a focus group study
- Organising a series of educational webinars
- Preparing the ‘White Paper’ for publication
- Holding a public discussion involving a wide range of stakeholders
- Public presentation of the research and the ‘White Paper’
- Building a community of like-minded individuals and ambassadors for sustainable bioeconomic development in Ukraine.
